Shine Louise Houston, producer and maker at Pink & White Productions, has won numerous awards for her passion of passion with The Crash Pad Series. With ingenuity and enthusiasm, Shine Louise has given new life to the talk about the many shades of sex and Office Porn abilities through sexy, intelligent, physical perform. No matter what your ”preferences” are, her movies may expose you to different ways of thinking about physical mobility and the universal straight to physical delight.
” I think there is a lot of room for mature material that’s true, courteous, and potent, and I think that’s the ideal time to turn it into social. It’s a location where funds, sexual, multimedia, and morals collide”. Pink & White Productions ’ Director and maker is Shine Louise Houston.

We have the respect of asking Shine Louise a few questions this fortnight on SheVibe, along with Hey Epiphora and Kara Sutra:
It constantly fascinates me how many pioneers that our friends at Good Vibrations have launched in this industry ( SheVibe included amongst those inspired by their example ). What aspect of your employment made you want to write the Pink and White works? Or did you realize that cinematography had a upcoming was out there for you?
I had a picture amount from San Francisco Art Institute, but found the market in the Bay Area modest and really aggressive. The gates that opened at the time were for video, and I was checking up a lot of things. Yet jobs, I had no idea what I could do. I think the big motivator for me was when I turned 30. I had a drama diploma, but I wasn’t using it, and I one time realized,” OMG, I’m 30 and I’m still doing wholesale. Why no create movie, then? It was one of the strategies I explored as I was reinventing myself- including ideas of furnishings producing, finishing my soldering cert, or going again to graduate college. So I was hired at Good Vibrations and worked there for about five and a half times.
What does being sexual positive mean to you?
Basically placed, love-making optimism is about certainly dissing different person’s interests and inclinations. They are acting consensually and safely ( safe, sane, and consensual ). And if you see someone engaging in something that could be done more safely, or in a way that is more respectful of the community, you can say,” Hey look, I see that you’re into this, here’s a safer way to do it.” It’s giving other people the kind of space and respect that you would want, for them to be themselves.
Do you believe that porn can be used to help people learn more about what it means to be sexually?
Yes! Porn can help you create your own identity as a sexual being, especially by seeing explicit images of other people being sexual– whether or not you can identify with them. If you’re seeing examples of people acting sexually and expressing themselves, you can identify with them and say,” Yes, that’s something I want to do,” or” Hey, that’s something I do, and somebody else does it as well, so I’m not a freak.” It may affirmative and affirmative, and it may grant your consent. So yes, I think it can help people figure out who they are sexually. And it might give you an opportunity to broaden your sexual vocabulary and experience a fantasy life by giving you an idea about someone else’s sexuality.
What is your ”definition” of queer porn, for those who don’t understand why it might appeal to them?
Queer porn is everything that’s out of the box of ”normal” heterosexual sex. any combination that goes against the grain. Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Trans, Cis… Normal heterosexual sex being defined as having missionary sex with a conventionally attractive white man or white woman. So anything outside of normal is queer sex.
Can you share any humorous mishaps or tales from the set?
There has been squirting on a camera, high heels kicked the cameras, no puke stories, and no poop stories.
I think the most bizarre situation was when a performer came to set not realizing it was a porn shoot. This guy claims to be interested in contact improvisation and a lot of movement stuff. He starts doing his thing while we’re filming, and as he gets started, he begins to do his thing. So, we have this one guy show up and maybe he didn’t read the email very well. We’re recording the pretty-pretty section, which is non-narrative, close-up of body parts, and pretty stuff, and then it’s a solo scene. I’m thinking he’s freaking out, so I check in with him and ask,” Is everything okay, are you all okay?” and he’s like,” Oh yea, I’m fine”! I’m asked,” Okay, you do know that this is a solo scene,” and he didn’t say that in a bad way. 15 minutes pass and he has just removed his shirt, gone a long time, and stretched. I say,” Well, we want to see you jerk off.” And he was like” WHAT?!”?! ( Laughs ) As we are filming, I’m like,” Okay, let’s give him space, let him do what he wants,” and there is half an hour of movement. He hasn’t removed his shorts yet. And then he makes a funny motion by rubbing his face, grabbing his shirt, and quickly putting it on. Heavenly Spire is a visual study of masculinity on different bodies.
He is all,” Oooooooooh!!” when it comes to him. Um, I’m sorry, I guess. WHOA! I’m sorry, but I hope you didn’t believe I was pulling your chain”! And he was incredibly apologetic and wanted to try to jerk off. ( Laughing )” Ooooooh, you want to see my penis?! I understand it”! The weirdest and funniest mishap story ever from a set is probably that. But I was like,” Well, if that’s not what you signed on for, then it’s cool”. He continued to try, but I was like,” Nope. It’s all good, I assure you! That moment when he understood that we were making an explicit video– and he didn’t quite get it– was HILARIOUS.
SheVibe:
Do people have an expectation about your personal sex life when they learn what you do for a living, like you’re swinging from the chandeliers? Do they then typically talk too much about their own sexual lives? ( We run into this a lot with our own interactions ).
I’ve known them for at least a few years, and they’re fine by the time I let the cat out of the bag, so I’m pretty picky about who I tell. I typically tell people I do” corporate video,” and that immediately shuts them off.
Kara_Sutra is best known for hosting Sex Ed 102: all the things you didn’t learn … but should have, a popular web series on YouTube and Blip. television program that aims to illuminate the issue of healthy sexuality. Her sweet and welcoming demeanor, which is dotted with sly humor, the occasional trucker’s mouth, and fantastic natural cleavage, has earned her a sizable and supportive fan base.
What are the main things you’ve learned about yourself from creating and developing the Crash Pad Series?
I’ve never had a real interest in business, and throughout my life as an artist, I never really knew anything about it. Although I still don’t think I’m a ”team player” when it comes to running a business, working in a group has become much simpler. So even though it’s been challenging, I realized that I like running the business. Since my mother was a sort of former hippy, chasing money was a big no. So I’ve discovered that I enjoy business, I enjoy money, and that it can be used for good rather than greed.
If you could change one thing about the porn industry, what would it be?
What I don’t know about the porn industry itself would change, but I do know what to do about the ”ghettozing” of it because that is what causes people to make poor decisions. Even having electricians visit your building is challenging. That’s awkward, and it shouldn’t be awkward. When you’re big enough, people may not do a shit, but for small and mid-sized businesses, it’s a big deal. It’s difficult to find people who will work with you, even if you’re trying to be a 100 % legitimate business. You hire movers and they look at you funny. It’s difficult to obtain bank accounts, a merchant account, and investors.
I don’t believe the government should prioritize this sector in the way that it does. There are already laws that protect children and protect human trafficking. The laws that have been passed in the last seven to ten years, particularly in the last couple of years, are ridiculous. However, all the legislation that affects the industry comes from a hostile and negative background. I think there are industry-friendly ways to regulate our work.
Who are your favorite performers to work with and/or watch?
That is a difficult question to answer. Sometimes people have an off day, sometimes people have a great day … Depends on the day, or who they’re with. Many people give excellent performances. My first porn crush was Chloe. it’s all over the map.
Do you have any personal favorites? If so, which ones?
For the CrashPad compilations, I choose my favorites. I usually pick the episodes based on the communication between the performers, and if I halfway nailed the lighting that day.
Where would you like to see the Crash Pad Series in five, ten, or ten years?
Hopefully still operating! The site’s morphed on its own. However, I mainly hope that CrashPad will still exist in five or ten years. Who applies and when does it actually appear has changed. As far as personal projects, I have more involved things I want to do. I have no idea what it will look like in five to ten years; it will depend on how the neighborhood will fare in those five to ten years. It has evolved over the years as a result of who has chosen to perform. It has its own container.
What advice would you give budding adult filmmakers, or those that hope to get into the field?
Know your craft first, then. You can create a video drama without running a business, but you must consider what will happen with the funds if it comes straight from me. Before I had to pay$ 2,000 in taxes one year, which was directly from me, I had never thought about it. Have your i’s crossed and your t’s dotted. Oh. And if you’re starting a company, you should start it legitimate. What if it makes a significant and you immediately start receiving dozens of investigations annually?
The$ 800/year it costs to operate as the only person in an LLC is awful, but that’s significantly less than the$ 800/year you’d have to pay when all these taxes are paid, and your personal assets are protected if things go wrong. Additionally, you can deduct costs like a little company, your cellphone, and transport. If you can handle it, register as a W2 staff to avoid paying a lot of self-employment income. If you didn’t make any profits at the end of the season, you only need to give the monthly LLC taxes. This means, if money is given to a business, it appears on the agency’s novels.
It’s a genuine thing to think about because once wealth starts to flow, it’s a major concern, particularly when you’re fresh and you’re never thinking about income. I detest papers, to, but I do it. Although it may not seem intimidating, it don’t. It does make you feel much better.
Has your function been influenced by your winning the Feminist Porn Award, and if so, how?
Although the Feminist Porn Honours haven’t altered our production, it has given us more contact. particularly in the beginning. It has encouraged us to preserve creating.
Was that a moment in your life when you knew everything had succeed and that you knew it did?
The odd thing occurred when movie holidays began to contact Americans. All artists want to participate in video celebrations. It was funny that I didn’t even apply to Frameline and that I had submitted tiny shorts to them right out of college. Festivals found me and said,” Hey, will you come to PhillyFest, OutFest, etc. We’ll fly you out, etc.,” which was very strange. I’m of,” Actually? You want to display The Crash Pad at the OutFest event? I was contacted by numerous movie celebrations.
What do you credit the success of the Crash Pad Series web with, and are there any particular things you did to make it walk out and/or develop?
The website’s achievements was a result of it using the initial movie, which filled a desperately needed hole by showcasing gay sex in porn.
Kara_Sutra:
What may you choose to do if you had to cease working in the grownup business?
If I had limitless amounts of time and money, I would also generate music and movies, but I’d probably browse table more at the beach than at the movies.
Porn is more ecological than producing non-porn movies. Although it’s exciting and I may drive myself, I also have a few jobs that aren’t even close to sexual that I want to finish before I pass away.
